Imagine we scroll around social media and give unnecessary hype to people who are not adding value to our community. Some of them use derogatory speech and these guys run their mouth faster than a boeng 747. They are everywhere, on Tiktok, Facebook, Youtube, WhatsApp and guess what? They’re the ones people are talking about. This is an indirect priming that will affect the next generation mainly. You know why? Because growing up seeing someone use such lingo publicly will make them think that’s normal.
Then we also have popular mbingas who give aid to popular people only. But no one talks of Mr and Mrs Mugari. These guys are mere teachers but yet they built a school for their community singlehandedly. Not only that, it’s a free school. No school fees, simply buy uniforms and your books. Yet they don’t trend on social media platform. They are not given even 30 seconds air slot on any television channel. This couple deserve some respect. We need such people in Zimbabwe. To me this is the true meaning of what our President Emerson Mnangagwa said, “nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.”
Listen to their story and let’s hear what you guys think in the comment box. To imagine that they are using income from farming produces to build the school is unfathomable. I for one believe they need our support
